WNAM REPORT: Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov met with newly-appointed China’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan Han Chunlin.
The parties focused on trade and economic cooperation, development of cooperation in investments, agro-industrial sector, transportation and logistics, energy, cultural and humanitarian, torus, spheres.
The Kazakh Prime Minister said trust-based relations between the Heads of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Xi Jinping lay the foundation for dynamic economic cooperation between the two states.
They also noted a high level of trade and economic partnership between Kazakhstan and China. The mutual commodity turnover rose by 9% to 43.8 billion US dollars in 2024.
Besides, they debated the development of joint investment projects. China ranks among the top five investors in Kazakhstan. As of now, the countries implemented 62 joint projects worth 8.7 billion US dollars, and 11,000 jobs have been generated. 55 more worth 13.5 billion US dollars are being developed, and 17,400 jobs were created. 222 investment projects up to 60.5 billion US dollars were included in the pool.
Following the talks, they pledged to strengthen the partnership.
As earlier reported, the sales between China and Central Asia reached 94.82 billion US dollars in 2024.
