Jakarta ( WNAM MONITORING): Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL), Vice Admiral Erwin S. Aldedharma, affirmed that the TNI AL is committed to contributing to global peacebuilding efforts by participating in various international events.
“The TNI remains steadfast in its genuine commitment to supporting regional stability and world peace. We, at the TNI AL, strive to develop our personnel’s mental and spiritual strength in order to produce professional soldiers with integrity,” he remarked.
Aldedharma reinforced the navy’s determination in his speech for the opening of the Asia Pacific Chaplaincy Symposium (APCS) 2025 in Bogor, West Java, on Monday (January 27), according to a release received from his office in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The APCS 2025 serves as an international forum that aims to bring together military officers from countries in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond to discuss the mental and spiritual development of soldiers.
Dozens of officers from 28 countries are participating in the international symposium on January 27-29 this year.
The navy’s deputy chief of staff explained that the chaplaincy event provides an opportunity for participating military officers to exchange knowledge and experiences regarding the mental and spiritual development of soldiers.
He emphasized that strengthening the mentality of soldiers is essential to producing military personnel who share the same goal of promoting world peace.
The high-ranking officer further remarked that the international event is also expected to serve as a platform for participating countries to step up ties.
He expressed hope that the symposium would proceed smoothly and yield concrete results that contribute to global peacebuilding efforts.
