WNAM MONITORING: As part of Baku Metro’s development, 51 new stations and an additional 84.3 km of metro lines are planned for the future.
According to the State Program for 2025-2030 on improving transport infrastructure in Baku and its surroundings, approved by President Ilham Aliyev’s decree, these projects will both ensure passenger flow convenience and contribute to the city’s sustainable mobility strategy.
A contract has been signed with a foreign supplier for 65 wagons, with 35 wagons delivered and put into passenger service in 2024. Considering the increasing passenger demand, the construction of 10 new metro stations is planned from until 2030.
During 2025-2030, it is planned to replace wagons that have reached the end of their service life and purchase 299 new carriages.
According to the Conceptual Development Scheme of Baku Metro Lines, the metro network is planned to consist of 5 lines, 76 stations, 6 electric depots, and 119.1 km of tracks.
