WNAM REPORT: The “INSON” project represents a significant milestone in developing Uzbekistan’s social protection system. Its goal is to improve the quality of life for vulnerable populations and ensure accessibility and quality of social services for this group of citizens.
A meeting was held between the Director of the National Agency for Social Protection and representatives of the World Bank mission on the “INSON” project. The discussion focused on the key implementation stages and the results achieved. The Director of the Agency expressed gratitude to the World Bank for its continuous support in developing Uzbekistan’s social protection system. Special attention was given to enhancing the qualifications of social protection workers. It was emphasized that all efforts are based on the “For Human Honor and Dignity” principle. Additionally, discussions covered implementing training programs for social protection workers in collaboration with the International Training Center of the International Labor Organization (ITCILO).
According to industry representatives, the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy envisions a comprehensive professional social services system transformation. Key objectives include creating a new support system for individuals with disabilities, ensuring optimal and inclusive conditions, strengthening support measures for women, safeguarding their rights and legal interests, and increasing their social, economic, and political participation while promoting gender equality.
Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in social protection and implementing new projects.
