WNAM REPORT: Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi has emphasized the key role of media in shaping and changing society.
“Media plays a pivotal role in making people aware of their strength. It is not a mute spectator of the nation’s condition; instead, it serves as a dynamic force that can shape and change society by addressing serious issues and encouraging thoughtful discussions,” he said while talking to a delegation of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) led by Qaisar Mirza at the Chamber House on Friday.
Qureshi underscored the importance of media in raising awareness about citizens’ rights and empowering the masses. He highlighted that media not only informs the public but also fosters social and political discourse on critical issues that directly impact people’s lives.
He emphasized that the media’s responsibility extends to influencing policy decisions and ensuring government accountability by acting as a bridge between the government and the public. He asserted that the journalistic community should highlight the investment potential in various sectors of Pakistan’s economy to help attract foreign investment to Pakistan.
During the meeting, Qureshi also briefed the delegation on the key initiatives undertaken by ICCI to enhance service delivery for its over 10,000 members in both industry and trade. He reiterated the chamber’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business and strengthening its role as a bridge between the government and the private sector.
