WNAM REPORT: Both Countries Will Provide Educational and Cultural Support to Strengthen Ties: Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Sahir
Islamabad, February 8 – The Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Raza Amiri Moghadam has expressed Iran’s commitment to deepening its relationship with Pakistan, particularly in areas such as trade, economy and security.
The ambassador also appreciated the cooperation extended by Pakisgani officiazls in enhancing parliamentary relations between the two nations.
He was addressing yesterday while inaugurating ‘Hafiz Shirazi Corner’ at the history museum of Allama Iqbal Open University.
The Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, along with the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the university, Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Sahir, officially inaugurated the corner yesterday.
Dr. Farhat Asif, President of the Pakistan Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies, as well as senior university officials and faculty members, were also present at the event. Expressing his happiness over the celebration of the 46th anniversary of the Iranian Islamic Revolution and the establishment of a corner dedicated to the Iranian poet, Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam thanked the university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood. He stated that such initiatives contribute to strengthening the ties between the two nations.
The ambassador reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to further strengthening its friendly relations with Pakistan, particularly in the fields of trade, economy, and security. He also expressed the desire to initiate faculty exchange programs between universities in both countries to pass on their shared heritage and civilization to future generations.
Speaking in Persian, Dr. Abdul Aziz Sahir congratulated the Iranian ambassador on the anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution and emphasized that Pakistan and Iran would continue to support each other in the educational and cultural sectors.
Dr. Farhat Asif elaborated on the objectives and significance of establishing the Hafiz Shirazi Corner. It is worth mentioning that the university’s museum also houses a ‘Makhdum Quli Faraghi Corner,’ dedicated to the great poet of Turkmenistan.
