WNAM REPORT: In a recent interview , President Ilham Aliyev shared invaluable insights on Azerbaijan’s approach to climate action and the significance of COP29. One of the most striking elements of the President’s address was his recognition of the growing divide between the Global North and Global South concerning climate action. He noted the disparities in climate finance, stressing that the countries most vulnerable to climate change, particularly small island developing states, are often overlooked in global conversations. Azerbaijan, as the host of COP29, took a proactive stance by elevating the voices of these nations, prioritizing practical support and greater collaboration between developed and developing countries.
