WNAM REPORT: Madiyar Menilbekov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, together with diplomats from the Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Jeddah, held a meeting with Sir Edward Byrne, President of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), and with Kazakhstani students studying at the university.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in science and education, including opportunities for academic exchanges and internships for Kazakhstani students and faculty members. The ambassador highlighted Kazakhstan’s progress in higher education and the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality and accessibility of education.
The KAUST President and university leadership introduced the Kazakh delegation to the institution’s innovative teaching methods and research achievements. It was noted that KAUST actively collaborates with leading global research centers and possesses state-of-the-art research infrastructure.
In conclusion, the participants explored prospects for further cooperation, including the potential signing of a memorandum of understanding between KAUST and leading universities in Kazakhstan.
The diplomats also met with Kazakhstani students pursuing various scientific disciplines at KAUST, discussing their academic and living conditions, as well as any issues requiring support from the Embassy and Consulate General of Kazakhstan. The Kazakhstani ambassador encouraged students to engage in academic and cultural activities, fostering a strong Kazakhstani student community.
Earlier it was reported that Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov had met with Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan Al-Muraikhi during his visit to Doha.
