ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a consultative meeting with the presidents of various chambers of commerce across Pakistan, reaffirming the government’s commitment to fostering economic growth and industrial development.
The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) was represented by President Usman Shaukat, along with Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi and Vice President Fahad Barlas. During the discussion, the chamber presidents lauded the government’s efforts in ensuring economic stability and expressed their appreciation for being included in the consultative process.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and business community, directing all ministries and relevant secretaries to develop a comprehensive action plan incorporating the suggestions put forth by the chambers of commerce.
RCCI President Usman Shaukat highlighted key industrialization initiatives, urging the Prime Minister to establish economic zones (industrial estates) around the Rawalpindi Ring Road. He also called for the immediate establishment of an Expo Center in Rawalpindi to boost trade and proposed the formation of an export-oriented trade council to enhance Pakistan’s domestic exports.
The Prime Minister assured business leaders of the government’s continued efforts in facilitating trade and industrial growth, stressing that sustainable economic policies would be shaped with active input from the private sector.
