WNAM MONITORING: The Mejlis of Turkmenistan adopted a resolution to transfer 65 hectares of land from Ashgabat to the administrative territory of Arkadag, according to the scheme attached to the resolution, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan on Wednesday.
Officials made this decision to further develop urban infrastructure, improve management, and organize the city’s infrastructure, in compliance with the Law of Turkmenistan on Administrative-Territorial Division.
The resolution tasks the Ministry of Agriculture, in cooperation with the local authorities of Arkadag, with carrying out the necessary procedures to define the new administrative borders.
Founded on June 29, 2023, Arkadag has become the first “smart city” in the country and has received international recognition for its innovative solutions in urban planning, ecology, and digital technologies. The project implements sustainable development principles by combining modern engineering solutions with the concept of a “green” city. Arkadag has earned several prestigious international awards for its achievements.
