WNAM REPORT: Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin announced that the government’s Free Health Screening program has recorded over one million registrants since its launch on February 10, 2025.
Sadikin told the press after monitoring a health screening event for ride-hailing riders here on Friday that the number of people registering to receive the services had risen to 90 thousand per day.
The minister expressed hope that the number of registrants for the Free Health Screening program can continue to increase, even reaching more than 50 million people in 2025.
“Because this is the first year, to achieve 50 million (registrants), there must be 150 thousand (registrants) per day,” he remarked.
Thus, he further underscored the need to increase the number of registrants per day by around 50 thousand to achieve the goal.
He assessed that cooperation, such as that carried out by the government, in this case, the Ministry of Health with ride-hailing service provider Grab, is one of the steps in expanding the scope of registrants for the Free Health Screening program.
“Hence, just like the COVID-19 vaccination, we hope it (the number) can continue to increase,” he remarked.
Earlier, Sadikin underlined that the number of registrants reflected the community’s high level of enthusiasm for health services provided by the government.
The minister remarked that the Free Health Screening program is one of the biggest health initiatives of the Ministry of Health.
Sadikin stated that the program enables people to access a range of health screening services, including checks for heart disease and mental health.
“In addition to free health screening, we also need to reduce the incidence of tuberculosis (TB) and open 66 hospitals in the most underdeveloped and disadvantaged districts and cities across Indonesia,” the minister remarked.
