Tashkent ( WNAM MONITORING0:  On 21 March, a grand Navruz celebration took place in Yangi Uzbekistan Park in Tashkent. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev delivered a speech, congratulating the people on the holiday.

The head of state highlighted the special significance of this year’s Navruz coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, adding a deeper spiritual meaning to the celebration. He extended warm greetings not only to Uzbekistan’s citizens but also to compatriots abroad, emphasizing their enduring connection to the homeland.

In his address, the President underscored the historical and cultural importance of Navruz, which has been celebrated for over three millennia. He described it as a symbol of humanism and creativity, resonating with the sweeping reforms and transformations underway in New Uzbekistan—a nation committed to justice, improved living standards, and ambitious development projects.

President Mirziyoyev highlighted Uzbekistan’s achievements in industry, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and environmental protection. He emphasized the “Yashil Makon” (Green Space) initiative, which fosters a new ecological environment, and the “Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy” program, which expands these efforts.

Addressing Uzbekistan’s youth, the President stressed that young people are the driving force of the nation’s future. He encouraged them to channel their knowledge and energy into the country’s development, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting their aspirations.

A key focus of the speech was the role of mahallas (neighborhood communities). President Mirziyoyev congratulated mahalla workers on their professional holiday, observed on March 22, acknowledging their contributions to youth upbringing, social welfare, entrepreneurship, and community development.

Recognized as an international holiday by the UN, Navruz embodies interethnic unity. In this spirit, President Mirziyoyev announced an upcoming trilateral meeting of the leaders of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan in Khujand, which aims to strengthen regional cooperation.

The event was attended by foreign diplomats and representatives of international organizations. The festivities concluded with a grand concert featuring artists from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, and Tajikistan.

Nationwide celebrations continue, including public festivities, charitable initiatives, and traditional springtime agricultural activities.
