WNAM MONITORING: The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has reported about the death of two servicemen who were caught in an avalanche on March 19.
The bodies of soldiers Ali Imanov and Ruslan Hamidov were found under snowdrifts, according to the ministry.
They were caught in an avalanche while returning from their duty station in the Gadabay district.
Despite unfavorable weather conditions, search and rescue operations were carried out jointly by authorized units of the Azerbaijani Army, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads using special equipment, the ministry said.
