Tashkent ( WNAM MONITORING): According to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, 678,700 foreign citizens visited the country in January 2025. This marks an increase of 158,500 people (or 30.5%) compared to the same period of last year.
The majority of visitors arrived to visit relatives—461,277 people. Additionally, a significant number entered the country for business trips (88,336 people), tourism (75,392 people), and commercial activities (41,196 people).
Of particular interest is the number of foreigners seeking medical services in Uzbekistan. In January 2025, 8,966 individuals traveled to the country for treatment, highlighting the growing appeal of Uzbekistan’s healthcare sector among international visitors.
Furthermore, 3,508 foreign citizens arrived for educational purposes, reflecting the increasing interest in Uzbekistan’s academic opportunities.
The rising number of international visitors underscores the government’s efforts to develop tourism, healthcare, and education while strengthening global partnerships.
