WNAM REPORT: Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission, on Wednesday said China is willing to carry out dialogue and consultation with the U.S. side in the spirit of equality and mutual respect to address their respective reasonable concerns.
Wang made the remarks during his meeting with Evan Greenberg, executive vice chairman of the board of directors of the National Committee on United States-China Relations (NCUSCR) in Beijing.
Noting China and the U.S. have broad interests and vast space for cooperation, Wang expressed belief that the world would be better off if the two countries could help each other succeed.
He pointed out that China-U.S. relations are at an important juncture, calling on the two sides to be guided by the important consensus and vision of the two heads of state, strengthen exchanges, enhance understanding, avoid miscalculation and manage differences.
Wang appreciated Greenberg’s long-term commitment to promoting China-U.S. exchanges and cooperation and hoped that the NCUSCR and people from all walks of life in the U.S. would make new contributions to the stable, healthy and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations.
Greenberg, for his part, stressed that the U.S.-China relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the world.
The two sides should utilize their experience and wisdom to enhance understanding, expand cooperation and live in harmony, he said.
