WNAM REPORT: During his working visit to Uzbekistan, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the opening ceremony of the first international forum “Central Asia in the Face of Global Climate Challenges: Consolidation for Common Prosperity,”.
The two-day forum, organized at the Congress Center of the Silk Road Samarkand complex, became one of the most important global events in the field of ecology and climate change.
Its participants include heads of state of Central Asia, leaders of the European Union, leading global experts, government officials and members of governments of a number of foreign countries, representatives of international organizations and major financial institutions.
The first Central Asia-EU summit was held in Samarkand on Friday. An international climate forum opened there today. Both events are chaired by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and attended by the leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. The EU is represented by European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
