WNAM MONITORING: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov led a mass bike ride on Monday to commemorate World Health Day, heading a column of cyclists along a route from the Health Path to central Ashgabat, according to the event’s official website.
Government officials, members of the Mejlis, representatives from ministries, public organizations, media, accredited diplomats, students from Döwletliler Köşgi Palace, schoolchildren, university students, and professional athletes participated in the event.
During the ride, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister Tangryguly Atahallyev to enhance oversight of the National Forest Program aimed at improving environmental conditions and expanding green areas. He also directed Deputy Prime Minister Baymyrat Annamammedov to systematically advance Ashgabat’s beautification and greening projects, as well as creating more opportunities for sports activities.
The event concluded at the Ruhyýet Palace, where President Berdimuhamedov wished participants good health and continued success.
Similar mass bike rides were held in the city of Arkadag and other regions. Throughout Health Week, from April 1 to 7, Turkmenistan organized thematic conferences, exhibitions, and cultural events promoting public health.
