ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): United Business Group (UBG) Secretary General Zafar Bakhtawari hosted a dinner at his residence, which was attended by prominent business figures from Islamabad and the Gilgit-Baltistan region.

While addressing the gathering, Zafar Bakhtawari emphasized that in order to tackle the current economic challenges facing Pakistan, the private sector must come forward and play an active role. He said that the world is rapidly changing, and the current global situation is directly impacting Pakistan’s economy. In such a scenario, it is crucial to highlight the business potential of regions like Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan.

He added that UBG is playing a significant role in uniting traders from across the country on one platform to contribute to the stability of the national economy.

On this occasion, prominent businessman Malik Ashiq Awan remarked that the business community must learn from each other’s experiences in order to progress. He appreciated Zafar Bakhtawari’s hospitality and said that such dialogues promote unity among the business community.

Former Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and former President of the Hunza Chamber, Amin Ullah Baig, stated that Gilgit-Baltistan is a region rich in natural resources. If investment opportunities are created there under government patronage, it could prove to be a game-changer for the entire country.

Renowned businessman from Gilgit-Baltistan Nazeer ur Rehman Usmani highlighted the immense potential in tourism, minerals, agriculture, and the IT sector in the region. He stressed the need to promote these opportunities at both national and international levels.

Prominent business figure from Islamabad Liaqat Noon said the business community must adapt to modern demands and create opportunities for the youth to take the lead in business.

Hassan Iqbal Gardezi emphasized the need to promote the public-private partnership model to accelerate the process of development.

Rao Faisal, Zia-ul-Haq Abbasi, Habib Orakzai from the Human Rights Commission, Hunza’s notable figure Raja Nazeem, Fayyaz Haider Malik from Talagang Chamber, and Israr-ul-Haq Mashwani also shared various suggestions and appreciated Zafar Bakhtawari’s efforts.

In conclusion, the participants agreed that joint efforts are crucial for improving the national economy, and such dialogues should continue regularly to ensure all regions are included in the process of development.
