Trump has been earning enemies rather than friends by his arrogant and insulting public statements against the leaders of the countries who don’t see eye to eye with him on political economic and foreign policy issues.
Small wonder China has at long last also now paid him in his own coin by slapping tariffs on America. The statement of the Chinese President that Chinese don’t like to quarrel but that fact should not be taken as their weakness was a befitting reply to his verbal attacks on China. The Iranian head of state too has taken umbrage at Trump’s threats to his country. Trump has touched off an unnecessary economic war with China which is going to cost him dearly in the days to come.
China has imposed 84 percent tariff on American goods which could have been avoided had a Trump thought twice before imposing a big tariff on Chinese goods. It seems that his financial team is not up to the mark. Most of his economic policies are dictated by persons like Allon Musk whose competence as a financial wizard leaves much to be desired.
