WNAM REPORT: The Secretary General of United Business Group (UBG), Zafar Bakhtawari, held an important meeting with the Head of the European Union Delegation, Jeroen Willems. The two discussed bilateral trade and investment relations, mutual cooperation, and the upcoming Pakistan-European Union Business Forum to be held in Islamabad next month.
Speaking on the occasion, Jeroen Willems said that the high-level Business Forum scheduled for May 14 and 15 in Islamabad will prove to be a milestone in promoting trade and investment between the EU and Pakistan. He added that the forum will not only provide high-level networking opportunities for the business community, but also help establish direct links between European institutions and Pakistani business circles.
Jeroen Willems emphasized that the European Union is a larger trade and investment partner for Pakistan than both the United States and China, and that the EU is keen to further expand these relations.
On this occasion, UBG Secretary General Zafar Bakhtawari appreciated the European Union’s efforts to strengthen trade and investment ties with Pakistan and assured full cooperation from UBG. He said that UBG will play a proactive role in promoting connections between European and Pakistani business institutions, investors, and traders—not only at an institutional level but also personally.
Zafar Bakhtawari added that such forums promote mutual trust, economic growth, and sustainable trade partnerships, and Pakistan’s business community is fully prepared to take advantage of this opportunity.
