President of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Chief of Army Staff of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, General Asim Munir who called on him at the office today.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the field of defense and military education, as well as the development of bilateral relations.
H.E. Mr. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan considers Pakistan an important partner in South Asia. He noted the positive dynamics in bilateral relations.
According to the President, both sides have significant potential to strengthen economic ties, including in trade, transport, and logistics.
In turn, General Asim Munir conveyed greetings to the Head of State from Prime Minister of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Shehbaz Sharif. The Chief of Army Staff highlighted the positive trend in cooperation between the defense agencies of Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
The interlocutors underlined the importance of giving additional impetus to the development of cooperation and ensuring the full realization of existing opportunities across various sectors of mutual interest.
Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr. Murat Nurtleu held a meeting with General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
During the talks, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Kazakh-Pakistani partnership, with a particular focus on trade, investment and transport-logistics cooperation.
In particular, they reviewed opportunities for expanding transit and transport collaboration, which would help to unlock the potential of bilateral business ties, as well as joint projects currently under consideration.
Minister Nurtleu stressed the importance of advancing projects in agriculture, logistics, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and information technology.
