ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) cricket team emerged victorious in a thrilling friendly cricket match against the Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry (ICSTSI), winning by a significant margin and claiming the trophy. The match was held at F-9 Park and witnessed by a large number of enthusiastic supporters from both sides.
Batting first, the ICCI team set a challenging target of 176 runs. In response, the ICSTSI team was restricted to 110 runs. The ICCI side, led by Vice President Nasir Mehmood Chaudhry, showcased excellent teamwork and sportsmanship. Key performers included Imran Minhas, Naeem Siddiqui, Shakil Abbasi, and Shah Zeb Ishaq Sial. Malik Asif was declared Man of the Match for his explosive 49-run innings.
The event was graced by Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, President of ICCI, as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished guests included Mohammad Ajmal Baloch, President All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran; Mohammad Ishaq Sial, Executive Member ICCI; Saqib Abbasi, Chairman ICSTSI; Shaikh Abdul Waheed, and Nisar Mirza, both members of ICCI.
Addressing the audience, President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi congratulated both teams for their spirited performance and emphasized that victory and defeat are part of the game, but it is the display of sportsmanship that truly matters. He highlighted ICCI’s longstanding tradition of supporting sports, underscoring its role in promoting a healthy and active society. He further mentioned ICCI’s recent hosting of a dinner in honor of the Pakistan Junior Team as a reflection of its commitment to youth and sports.
President Qureshi reaffirmed that while ICCI remains dedicated to advocating for economic growth and ease of doing business, it will continue to play an active role in the promotion of sports and community engagement.
