WNAM REPORT: Member of the Central Core Committee of UBG (FPCCI), Ahsan Bakhtawari, stated that the closure of highways in Sindh has severely disrupted the supply chain across the country, paralyzing commercial and industrial activities. He urged the government to take immediate notice of this serious situation and take effective measures to reopen the highways. He added that after the issue of canals has been taken to the Council of Common Interests, the protest should be ended immediately.
Due to strained relations with India, trade was already affected, and now this sit-in has further increased the difficulties for the business community. He expressed these views while speaking with a high-level delegation of the business community at his office.
Ahsan Bakhtawari emphasized that the country’s economic development depends on an integrated and uninterrupted supply chain, and any disruption directly impacts industries, exports, and the daily lives of ordinary citizens.
He pointed out that the ongoing highway closures in Sindh have not only halted the delivery of food supplies, medicines, and industrial raw materials but have also jeopardized the livelihoods of thousands of workers and laborers.
In such a situation, the government’s silence is both incomprehensible and regrettable.
Ahsan Bakhtawari assured that the FPCCI will effectively convey the collective voice of the business community to the government corridors.
