WNAM REPORT: The Three Gorges Dam in China’s Hubei Province has affected the Earth’s rotation and the length of the day, NASA spokesman Dr. Benjamin Fong Chao told LAD Bible.
Completed in 2012, the Yangtze River Dam is an impressive feat of engineering, measuring 2,335 meters long and 185 meters high. The dam’s reservoir holds about 40 cubic kilometers of water (equivalent to about 10 trillion gallons) at an altitude of 175 meters above sea level. The Three Gorges Dam is the most powerful hydroelectric power station in the world.
NASA scientists note that this redistribution of mass on the planet’s surface has led to measurable geophysical consequences: a day on Earth has increased by 0.06 microseconds, and the planet’s axis of rotation has shifted by approximately two centimeters. Despite the apparent insignificance of these changes, modern scientific equipment is capable of recording them.
