WNAM REPORT: The honor guard company of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan will take part in the Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow on May 9. This was reported by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ashgabat Ivan Volynkin in his article for the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
“The annual visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the festive events on May 9 in Moscow testifies to the special respect and spiritual closeness of our fraternal peoples. It is worth noting that Turkmen servicemen, represented by the honor guard company, took part in the Victory Parades on Red Square twice, in 2010 and 2020. They will also march on its cobblestones on May 9, 2025,” the statement says.
The diplomat stressed that Turkmenistan is preparing for a large-scale celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Ceremonial events, concerts, thematic lectures and exhibitions are being held in the capital and other major cities of the country. The central event will be the flower-laying ceremony on May 9 at the Eternal Glory monument in the People’s Memory Memorial Complex in Ashgabat with the participation of the country’s leadership, the diplomatic corps and the public.
