Time was when the countries which had strong navy used to rule the roost in world’s politics. One remembers that in the not too distant past when Britain possessed a very strong navy. It used to take pride on it by inventing the slogan Brittania rules the waves. These days it is the air power that carries the day in the battles. A recent example of it was provided by missiles -fitted aero planes of Pakistan in the recent clash between India and Pakistan. But for superior air force and missiles carrying aero planes’ the six time bigger military power than Pakistan like India could not do anything substantial against Pakistan and at the end of the day had to beat a retreat.
With a heavy heart India had to agree to sit for a dialogue on outstanding issues with Pakistan which obviously include Kashmir issue also. Had it not taken a drubbing at the hands of Pakistan air force it would not have halted its air strikes against Pakistan. This episode is yet another lesson for us. It would be now bounden duty of any political party which is in power today or in the days to come in this country to further beef up Pakistan ‘s air force and missile system because if history be any guide India can never be trusted.
Since Chinese technology has shattered the myth of invincibility and superiority of western made arms aero planes and armaments, we should take full benefits of Chinese mllitary and air force technology and hard-ware.
