Tashkent ( WNAM MONITORING ) On International Climate Day, the capital of Uzbekistan launched the Global Youth Festival—an international initiative aimed at actively engaging young people in the global dialogue on sustainable development and environmental protection.
The forum will serve as an effective platform for exchanging ideas between young leaders and government officials, where innovative approaches to addressing pressing environmental challenges will be discussed.
The festival also opened the Week of Digital “Green” Initiatives.
Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Zamin Foundation, participated in the event, familiarized herself with the activities of young ecological startups and projects, and joined participants in practical workshops on creating products from recycled materials.
Ziroat Mirziyoyeva also met with young eco-activists and joined the youngest guests of the festival. In the warm atmosphere of the Japanese Garden, she read books with children and watched ecological animated films Yashil Makon and “Bek and Lola.” The public will have the opportunity to visit this venue and explore the materials until the end of the current week.
The festival spans four thematic weeks and will take place from 15 May to 30 June in Tashkent, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and the Samarkand region.
More than 300 representatives from youth and international organizations, experts, specialists, and activists from over 50 countries around the world are participating in the event.
