WNAM MONITORING: The opening ceremony of the “Heydar Aliyev Cup-2025” international boxing tournament for junior male and female boxers was held at the Boxing Center in Baku.
The event started with presentation of the participating countries.
In his remarks, Naghi Safarov, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, highlighted the country’s tradition of hosting prestigious competitions and its notable achievements in sports.
More than 216 boxers, representing Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Montenegro, Russia, Belarus, Türkiye and Georgia, are set to compete across fourteen men’s and nine women’s weight categories.
The Azerbaijani national team, consisting of 60 junior boxers, will compete for the title.
The finals will take place on May 21.
