ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ):  Mian Akram Farid, UBG Core Committee member, former President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI), and former Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), congratulated the United Business Group (UBG) and its leadership on the successful amendment of the Trade Organization Act 2013.

Mian Akram Farid specifically lauded the instrumental role played by Mr. S.M. Tanveer, stating, “Mr. Tanveer’s unwavering dedication and relentless efforts were absolutely critical in bringing this vital matter to the forefront at every level of government. His tireless pursuit has now culminated in the successful passage of this amendment through the National Assembly, a truly significant achievement for the entire Pakistan business community.”

Mian Akram Farid also acknowledged the valuable contributions of Dr. Ikhtiar Baig for his dedicated advocacy for the business community within the National Assembly.

Mian Akram Farid  also appreciated  Atif Ikram, President, FPCCI, Nasir  M Qureshi, President ICCI,  Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, SVP, FPCCI,  Zaki Ejaz, VP, FPCCI, Tariq Jadoon, VP, FPCCI, Ms. Qurra-tul-Ain, VP, FPCCI, M Ahmed Chinoy, Khalid Tawab, Hanif Gohar, and Zafar Bakhtawari for their collective support and efforts in achieving this landmark legislative change.

Highlighting Mr. S.M. Tanveer’s consistent commitment, Mian Akram Farid noted, “Mr. Tanveer has consistently championed solutions to the diverse challenges our business community faces, from electricity costs to markup rates and IPP issues. His dedication serves as a powerful example of how sincere efforts can lead to tangible and positive outcomes for the economy.”

Mian Akram Farid believes that this amendment to the Trade Organization Act 2013 will usher in an era of greater efficiency, transparency, and confidence within the trade sector, ultimately contributing to increased economic growth and investment in Pakistan.

“I congratulate the entire UBG on this significant victory and commend their continued commitment to advocating for the needs of the business community,” Mian Akram Farid concluded
