WNAM Monitoring: By the Law “On establishing the Day of Employees of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan” of December 19, 2016, January 8 was declared the Day of Employees of the Prosecutor’s Office in Uzbekistan.
The Prosecutor’s Office consistently works to strengthen the rule of law in the country, protect the rights and freedoms of citizens, and prevent crimes and offenses. Its activities aim to ensure the full and unconditional implementation of reforms under the leadership of the President. Particular attention is paid to ensuring the implementation of legislation on social protection of the population and comprehensive support for low-income families, youth, and women. The violated rights of thousands of citizens are restored, comfortable conditions for business are created, and entrepreneurs are provided support.
As a result of the implementation of systemic measures in relevant areas of economic development, such as the rapid development of entrepreneurship, attracting investment, and increasing export volumes, in September 2023, the violated rights of almost 12,000 entrepreneurs were restored, and more than 26,000 people received help in solving their problems.
Prosecutors monitor work in fuel and energy supply, construction, and ecology and ensure that issues that arise are resolved promptly. To ensure a stable supply of energy resources, more than 300 serious problems have been solved, in particular, gas and water pipelines have been laid, electricity and heating have been improved, transformer points, water pumps, and boiler rooms have been updated, apartment buildings and their engineering and communication networks have been repaired.
The Prosecutor’s Office carries out specific work to ensure stable delivery of coal products to populated areas and prevent coal theft. Events are being organized to ensure the practical and rational use of land resources. Unauthorized territories are returned to reserve. The activities also include the fight against crime, improving the quality of investigations, and preventing corruption. All measures are being taken to strengthen further crime prevention measures, early identification and elimination of factors that negatively affect the situation’s stability, and ensure the certainty of punishment for crimes.
The Prosecutor’s Office systematically works with citizens’ appeals. Priority is given to open dialogue with the people and solving their problems.
