Tashkent: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of proposals to increase employment and reduce requirements in the field of entrepreneurship.
According to official statistics, the number of unemployed people in the country amounts to 1.3 million people. This year, another 2.4 million people will enter the labor market.
In light of this, this year it is planned to provide employment to 5 million people through the creation of sustainable and highly profitable jobs. In particular, there are opportunities to provide employment for 2.5 million people in the service sector, 2.1 million in agriculture, 250 thousand in investment projects and industry, 140 thousand in construction.
In addition, it is planned to involve 2 million people in business through the widespread introduction of new financial instruments, including a new microfinance system.
At the presentation, responsible persons presented information on the program for creating new jobs and promoting employment in 2024.
The President of the country approved this program and issued additional instructions for its implementation.
It was noted that in recent years, 2.4 million people have become self-employed, and now they need support in expanding their activities, gradually transitioning to small businesses and searching for markets. This is facilitated by the introduction of the “My Business” platform and “First Step to Business” bank cards.
The need to create infrastructure on lands not included in economic circulation, as well as support for project initiators, was emphasized. It has been determined that the “100 thousand farmers-exporters” program will be introduced on the basis of the “Aggregator” system, and this year 15 thousand hectares of land will be put up for auction.
The importance of vocational training for people without work experience and the provision of tax benefits to enterprises that hire citizens from the social register were also noted.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance has been instructed to identify additional reserves and opportunities for creating new jobs.
The presentation also discussed proposals to reduce mandatory requirements in the field of entrepreneurship and simplify the licensing procedure.
The current year in Uzbekistan has been declared the “Year of Support for Youth and Business.” It is planned to create even more favorable conditions for doing business.
It is worth noting that until now, entrepreneurs had to provide additional information already available in the relevant information systems. In this regard, since the beginning of this year, 34 types of certificates and reports have been canceled. Thanks to this, more than 21 thousand entrepreneurs will be able to save 500 million soums annually.
In general, there is no uniform list of reports submitted by entrepreneurs. In this regard, the head of state instructed to introduce a unified reporting system.
As part of efforts to simplify business processes and reduce the burden on entrepreneurs, it is also planned to cancel 16 types of licenses and permits.
The task was set to inform entrepreneurs about innovations in the field, constantly analyze their proposals and continue work on optimizing statistical reporting.
