WNAM Monitoring: Traditional Kazakh dishes are likely to be added to the menus of schools in Almaty.
The project which aims to add ‘traditional touch’ to school meals in local schools was suggested by the Almaty Service and Technology College.
Organizers of the project selected several schools where the traditional Kazakh dishes will become a part of the menu. They will work out their recommendations based on the results of a poll among students and testing of canteen works.
The project will run up until May 2024.
Earlier it was reported that some 133,000 primary school students had been provided with hot meals in Almaty this academic year. To this end, Almaty authorities allotted about 20 billion tenge in 2023.
