ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): President FPCCI Ikram Sheikh has said that women’s economic empowerment is essential for the country’s development. When women step into the world of business, not only does the household economy become stronger, but it also paves the way for national progress. He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Gujrat Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The ceremony was attended by prominent business, social, and political leaders, including SM Tanveer (Patron-in-Chief, UBG), Zafar Bakhtawari (Secretary General, UBG), Tariq Khan Jadoon (Vice President, FPCCI), Haji Nasir Mehmood (Group Leader, Gujrat Chamber), Ashfaq Ahmad Razi, Ahmed Hassan Mattoo, President Kasur Chamber Tariq Naeem Khokhar, Kareem Aziz Malik, Malik Suhail, Khalid Chaudhry, Malik Nadeem Akhtar, and other notable figures.
The event was hosted by the newly elected President Saima Sarfraz, Senior Vice President Nabeela Nasir, and Vice President Urooj Nawaz.
Atif Ikram Sheikh said that the Gujrat Women Chamber’s ceremony is marking a new chapter in history. He congratulated the leadership of the Women Chamber and assured them of his full support, saying that the Chamber must become a strong pillar of guidance for women entrepreneurs.
SM Tanveer stated that the determination, courage, and vision of Gujrat’s women are worthy of admiration. He added that under the mentorship of experienced leaders like Haji Nasir Mehmood, this chamber will soon emerge as Pakistan’s best women’s chamber. He emphasized the need for collaboration between the government and the business community for women’s empowerment.
Zafar Bakhtawari said that Gujrat has always been a symbol of innovation, progress, and hard work. Through the Women’s Chamber, local women now have an active platform through which they can play a significant role in the national economy. He paid tribute to the services of Haji Nasir Mehmood, saying that the establishment of the Women’s Chamber would not have been possible without his leadership.
Haji Nasir Mehmood said that the formation of the Gujrat Women Chamber is the realization of a long-standing dream aimed at providing women with economic independence, training, and business opportunities. He pledged to continue supporting women shoulder-to-shoulder in this mission.
President of the Women’s Chamber, Saima Sarfraz, said that they have a comprehensive plan for women’s training, legal assistance, business licensing, and financial support. Their goal is to partner with every institution that supports their mission of women’s empowerment.
Ashfaq Ahmad Razi, Ahmed Hassan Mattoo, and others also addressed the ceremony.
