ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Chargé D’Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy in Islamabad, Rahmat Hindiarta Kasuma, has said that Pakistan and Indonesia hold vast potential for strengthening bilateral economic and trade relations across diverse sectors.

Addressing the Pre-CEO Summit Corporate Dinner alongside Minister and Founder President of CEO Club Pakistan, Ijaz Nisar, the CDA lauded Pakistan’s talented youth, natural beauty, and hospitable culture. He emphasized that economic diplomacy must go beyond trade to promoting a positive global image of Pakistan.

He noted Indonesia’s growing partnership with the CEO Club and stressed enhancing Pakistan’s “Look East” vision by engaging more closely with ASEAN economies. Kasuma shared that over the past 1.5 years, the Indonesian Embassy has intensified its outreach to business communities across Pakistan—from Islamabad to Karachi and as far as Skardu and Hunza.

Highlighting recent successes, he said Pakistan ranked 9th in delegation size at the 2024 Trade Expo Indonesia—a historic achievement. Bilateral trade surged to $4 billion in 2024, with Pakistani exports reaching $5 million. In Q1 2025 alone, Pakistan’s investment in Indonesia touched $10.09 million, showing growing investor confidence.

Key investment areas included services (45%), construction (26%), and trade (22%), with promising potential in pharmaceuticals. Kasuma also pointed to Indomie’s success in Pakistan as a model for future agro-food and FMCG collaborations. He revealed Indonesian interest in Pakistan’s Reko Diq mining project and Pakistani plans to set up palm oil processing units in Indonesia.

He concluded by calling for deeper people-to-people ties and sectoral partnerships to further cement bilateral relations.
