Turkmenistan Appoints New Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations

WNAM MONITORING: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, appointed Nazar Halnazarovich Agahanov as Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, relieving him of his previous position as Deputy Minister, Turkmenistan’s state news agency reported.

Speaking after his appointment, Nazar Agahanov expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and assured his readiness to effectively fulfill the tasks assigned.

The head of state, addressing sector leaders, emphasized the need for the efficient use of the trade sector’s potential, improving service quality, and ensuring the domestic market is supplied with necessary goods, including food products.

At the government meeting, results of the work carried out over the past six months were summed up, the implementation of the country’s socio-economic development programs and personnel matters were reviewed. Reports were also heard from deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, a number of heads of agencies, and provincial governors.
