Tashkent: The President of Uzbekistan signed a law, which introduced amendments and additions to the Law “On the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
According to the Law, the Constitutional Court gives an opinion on the conformity of the issues submitted to a referendum with the Constitution.
The Constitutional Court decides on issues of this category no later than 15 days from the date of receipt of the relevant documents.
Also, according to the changes made, judges of the Constitutional Court are elected for a 10-year term without the right to re-election (previously they were elected for 5 years, then for 10 years).
