WNAM REPORT: On July 31, Turkmenistan celebrated World Ranger Day at the national level.
To celebrate the professional holiday of forest inspectors, a joint event of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the Conservation X Labs organization was held in the building of the Kopetdag State Nature Reserve.
As part of the campaign, the best inspectors from each state reserve and velayat environmental protection departments were invited here. During the meeting, the participants shared their experience in inspecting specially protected natural areas, and the results of work on preserving biodiversity using camera traps were presented using the example of the Kopetdag Reserve.
An introductory tour of the Kopetdag Nature Reserve Museum was conducted for the invited guests.
The event culminated in a ceremonial awarding of forest inspectors from each reserve and regional environmental protection departments who had particularly distinguished themselves in their work. They were presented with valuable gifts and certificates.
World Ranger Day is celebrated in Turkmenistan every year to encourage the hard work of conservation inspectors.
This day serves as a stark reminder of the vital role that park and wildlife rangers play in conservation efforts around the world and the dangers they face in the line of duty.
