by WNAM:

ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), has underscored the importance of forging stronger economic ties between Pakistan and Qatar, with a particular focus on enhancing bilateral trade, encouraging joint investments, and leveraging private sector cooperation to foster sustainable commercial growth.
He made these remarks during an exclusive interview here in Islamabad, following the recent successful conclusion of the Pakistan-Qatar Business Expo 2025 in Doha. The landmark event was organized under the banner of ICCI and witnessed the robust participation of ICCI Senior Vice President Abdul Rehman Siddiqui, Vice President Nasir Mehmood Chaudhry, Executive Members of the Chamber, and a large delegation of prominent business leaders from diverse sectors.
President Qureshi praised the time-tested, fraternal relations between Pakistan and Qatar, especially in the economic domain, and noted that the bilateral trade volume stood at an impressive QR 12.7 billion in 2024. He described this figure as a clear indicator of the deepening economic engagement and emphasized the vast potential for further expanding these ties.
To a question, the ICCI President highlighted the critical role of the private sector in driving regional and international cooperation. He urged entrepreneurs and investors on both sides to capitalize on emerging opportunities and build strategic partnerships in key areas including energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, and services.
Commenting on Qatar’s dynamic business landscape, he cited the country’s modern infrastructure, investor-friendly environment, and stable regulatory frameworks as compelling reasons for Pakistani businesses to explore joint ventures and investment projects in the Qatari market.
Calling the Expo a “testament to ICCI’s unwavering commitment to trade diplomacy,” President Qureshi reaffirmed the Chamber’s resolve to promote foreign direct investment and foster long-term commercial collaboration with the Gulf region in the best economic interests of the country. He emphasized that ICCI is actively working to establish institutional linkages aimed at facilitating future joint ventures and sustained economic engagement with friendly nations.
He described the Expo as a resounding success, drawing widespread acclaim from stakeholders on both sides for its role in enhancing business-to-business and people-to-people connectivity. The strong presence of key Pakistani and Qatari business leaders, he noted, not only demonstrated the mutual interest in expanding trade but also highlighted ICCI’s role as a catalyst for regional economic integration.
