ISLAMA AD (WNAM REPORT): A grand ceremony was held in Islamabad to commemorate Malaysia’s 68th Independence Day, with Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani and Malaysian High Commissioner to Pakistan Dato’ Azhar Mazlan as the chief guests. Kayani congratulated the Malaysian nation and government, highlighting the deep historical, religious, and cultural ties between Pakistan and Malaysia.
The Minister emphasized the strong bond between the top leadership of both countries, announcing that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will pay a historic visit to Malaysia in October to further strengthen economic and trade relations. Kayani also praised the Pakistani diaspora in Malaysia for playing a vital role in the Malaysian economy, particularly skilled laborers and engineers who contribute to Malaysia’s human resource capital.
Dato’ Azhar Mazlan noted that Pakistan was the first country to recognize Malaysia after its independence in 1957, underscoring the long-standing strong relations between the two nations. He expressed optimism that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit will further solidify ties between the two countries.
The event celebrated the shared history and future cooperation between Pakistan and Malaysia, with both nations looking to strengthen their partnership in trade, energy, education, and cultural exchanges.
