WNAM REPORT: Indonesia condemned Israel’s recent strike targeting Hamas in Doha, Qatar, calling it a flagrant breach of international law and a grave threat to regional peace and security.
In a statement posted Tuesday on X, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to take immediate and decisive measures to halt Israel’s military aggression in Gaza and ensure accountability.
“Indonesia condemns this aggression and repeats its calls on the United Nations Security Council to fulfill its mandate by taking immediate and decisive measures to halt Israel’s actions and ensure accountability,” the statement said.
The ministry said Tuesday’s attack in Doha violated the UN Charter and further risks escalating and widening the conflict in the region.
“Israel’s attack on Doha, Qatar, on 9 September 2025 constitutes a flagrant breach of international law, including the UN Charter, a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, and a grave threat to regional security and peace,” the statement added.
Indonesia also reaffirms its solidarity with the Government and people of Qatar, and reiterates its unwavering commitment to supporting all diplomatic efforts toward a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the Middle East under the Two-State Solution.
Israel has acknowledged that it planned and carried out an operation to eliminate leaders of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas in Qatar, and has taken full responsibility for the action.
The operation took place while several top Hamas officials were in Doha to discuss a Gaza ceasefire.
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the action was a wholly independent Israeli operation.
“Israel initiated it, Israel conducted it, and Israel takes full responsibility,” the office wrote on X.
The Qatari authorities strongly condemn Israel’s strikes on residential buildings in Doha, the Qatari Foreign Ministry said.
Qatar does not intend to tolerate Israel’s actions, which threaten the security of the entire region, the ministry said, adding that Qatar is launching a probe into the attack at the highest level, and results will be released soon.
