Jakarta (WNAM MONITORING):  Culture Minister Fadli Zon highlighted that museums must have an appealing presentation with activities that utilize current technology to attract visitors.

“Museums must be attractive, maybe with a touch of technology, immersive exhibitions, video mapping,” he said in Jakarta on Sunday.

According to him, the utilization of digital technology that is relevant to the current era is essential to attract people to visit museums and keep them away from boredom.

In this regard, he encouraged museums to adapt to technological advancement, one of which is by featuring compelling narratives in their collections.

“We hope museums can grow, develop, and respond to technological advancement,” the minister said.

He further said that to boost the attractiveness, museums may incorporate local features.

Currently, the number of museums across Indonesia has reached 481 museums and they are managed by various parties.

According to Zon, of the total number, 196 museums are managed by regional governments, while 118 museums are managed by the central government.

Furthermore, 166 museums are managed by private parties, and 1 museum is managed by a customary law community.
