ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research (MNFS&R) and President, Board of Governors of Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), chaired the 49th Meeting of the Board at PARC HQ’s, Islamabad. Federal Secretary for National Food Security and Research, Amir Mohyuddin, Chairman PARC Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Andrabi and all the members of the Board participated in the meeting. At the occasion Rana Tanveer Hussain welcomed all members of the PARC Board and commended Pakistan Agricultural Research Council for its leadership in advancing agricultural research across the country. The Federal Minister urged the PARC team to sustain their commitment to excellence and further deepen their engagement with farmers, researchers, and the broader scientific community.
Chairman PARC, Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Andrabi, presented a detailed overview of the ongoing research endeavors in agricultural research and the achievements made in addressing administrative and financial challenges. He also provided the Board with updates on newly initiated programs aimed at aligning research with modern scientific paradigms; these programs include genomics-based improvement of livestock breeds, smart agricultural practices, the application of advanced technologies in agricultural machinery design, and the certification of organic agriculture practices. BoG also approved PARC budget for FY 2025-26
