Even a cursory glance over Afghanistan’s political scene would reveal that since 1947 more than once Pakistani flag was burnt and trampled under feet by anti -social elements in many cities of Afghanistan but Kabul rulers looked the other way.

Had the culprits involved in the desecration of our flag for the first time been made example by handing down stern punishment to the culprits involved in it, many such incidents would not have happened afterwards. Needless to add burning flag of any country is the gravest crime that could be committed against that country. The country whose flag is burnt can go on a war against the country in which desecration of its flag is committed . The patience shown by Pakistan in this matter was, therefore, exemplary .
Whether it was King Zahir shah, Sardar Daud, Noor Mohammad Taraki, Babrak Karmal, Dr Najib, all were chips off the same block, insofar, their hatred of Pakistan was concerned .
India has been instrumental in prodding Afghanistan to question the Durand Line and keep its pot boiling but it conveniently forgot that if tomorrow China starts questioning Mcmohan Line which demarcated India with China where would that leave New Delhi as what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander too. Would it not then hoist India on its own petard?
If boundary lines drawn by ones ancestors are disturbed this way without any cogent reason to score some political point, will it not upset the applecart of world peace?
