WNAM MONITORING: Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov will make a state visit to Kazakhstan on Nov. 24–25, the Turkmen government said.
The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov reported to the Cabinet of Ministers Friday that preparations for the visit are underway.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan were established in October 1992. Bilateral cooperation has since grown across multiple sectors, supported by 180 agreements.
High-level visits and meetings are central to strengthening ties, which both countries pursue regularly. Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan also coordinate in international organizations, including the United Nations.
Trade and economic links are expanding, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation remains a priority.
President Berdimuhamedov described Kazakhstan as one of Turkmenistan’s closest neighbors and instructed the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs to ensure thorough preparations for the visit.
