Izmir ( WNAM REPORT): The World Healthy Ageing Council (WHAC) successfully held its international Flagship Ceremony in Izmir, marking an important milestone for the organization’s global initiatives. During the event, the 2026 North America Flagship Program—covering the United States and Canada—was officially announced.

Lucy Damiani has been appointed as the WHAC Chairwoman for 2026, leading the North America Flagship Program and guiding strategic efforts that support healthy ageing across the region.

World Healthy Ageing Forum (WHAF) High-Level Policy Meeting to Take Place in Switzerland

As part of its global agenda, WHAC announced that the World Healthy Ageing Forum (WHAF) High-Level Policy Meeting will be held in Switzerland during the Seventy-ninth World Health Assembly, which is taking place in Geneva on 18–23 May.

This high-level meeting will convene policymakers, global health leaders, and international institutions to advance coordinated strategies on healthy ageing worldwide.

World Healthy Ageing Forum (WHAF) 2026 to be Held on 10–13 December in Antalya, Türkiye

In addition, WHAC confirmed that the World Healthy Ageing Forum (WHAF) 2026 will take place 10–13 December 2026 in Antalya, Türkiye.

WHAF 2026 aims to bring together academics, health professionals, policymakers, industry leaders, and civil society organizations to guide global dialogue and collaboration on healthy ageing.

Türkiye and Switzerland Strengthen Their Roles in Global Healthy Ageing Leadership

By hosting key WHAC activities, both Türkiye and Switzerland are reinforcing their positions as strategic hubs for advancing global policies on active and healthy ageing. These international events highlight the growing importance of cross-border cooperation in addressing demographic transformation and ageing populations.

The World Healthy Ageing Council emphasized that its 2026 programs will advance with strong partnerships, evidence-based strategies, and innovative approaches worldwide.
