DSL Cricket Super League-2: Bakhtawari Kings Secure Victory Over Yahya Tigers

ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT):  In the final of the DSL Cricket Super League 2 held in Islamabad, Bakhtawari Kings defeated Yahya Tigers to win the tournament. The winning team was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 400,000, while the runner-up received Rs. 200,000 along with trophies. The chief guests of the final, Deputy Director General Pakistan Sports Board Shahid Islam and Senior Vice President ICCI Tahir Ayub, distributed the prizes. Winning Captain Arham Bakhtawari expressed his happiness over the victory and congratulated his team. Players of both finalist teams were awarded medals by the distinguished guests.
The DSL 2 tournament of a renowned Pharmacy and Super Store was held yesterday at Marghzar Cricket Ground, featuring thrilling matches among eight teams: Bakhtawari Kings, Mehmd Super Giants, Yahya Tigers, Musa Eleven, Isa Lions, Aiman Sultans, Eliana Gladiators, and Mustafa Qalandars.
Batting first in the final, Bakhtawari Kings scored 54 runs in the allotted overs. In reply, Yahya Tigers could manage only 23 runs. Zulqarnain of Bakhtawari Kings was declared Man of the Tournament, Firasat was named Best Bowler, while Faheem of Yahya Tigers received the awards for Best Batter and Best All-Rounder.
League organizer Ahsan Bakhtawari announced cash prizes worth Rs. 600,000 along with trophies for the winner and runner-up teams, while a motorcycle was awarded to the Man of the Tournament.
Addressing the ceremony, Shahid Islam said that the Pharmacy and Super Store had promoted young talent through the cricket league and provided excellent recreational opportunities by treating its employees like family. Tahir Ayub stated that the league offered employees not only entertainment but also an opportunity to build strong relationships with one another, further strengthening the company’s family-like environment.
Earlier, the league was formally inaugurated by the chief guest of the opening ceremony, Vice President ICCI Chaudhry Irfan Gujar, along with Secretary General UBG Zafar Bakhtawari; Patron-in-Chief Azerbaijan–Pakistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and former President ICCI Ahsan Bakhtawari; Waqar Bakhtawari, Abid Bakhtawari, Bilal Bakhtawari, Haris Bakhtawari, Uzair Bakhtawari; ICCI Executive Members Zulqarnain Abbasi, Chaudhry Wasim, Israr Mashwani; and renowned international mountaineer Sajid Sadpara.
Chaudhry Irfan Gujar, in his remarks, said that the Pharmacy and Super Store’s team workshops and recreational programs reflected the company’s commitment to employee happiness and welfare, giving it equal importance alongside business success. Ahsan Bakhtawari stated that employees were not considered just colleagues but family members, and with this spirit, the company provided entertainment, engagement, and support at every opportunity. He added that in addition to cricket, football and other sports competitions would also be organized, and under the mission of Clean and Green Islamabad, efforts would be made to beautify the city.
Sajid Sadpara encouraged youth to move forward in sports with hard work, dedication, and determination.
