JAKARTA ( WNAM MONITORING ): At least 16 people were killed and 18 others injured in a bus accident on Monday in the Central Java province of Indonesia, officials said.
According to the officials, the passenger bus lost control after hitting the road divider and overturned. The bus, carrying 34 passengers, was traveling from the capital Jakarta to Yogyakarta city, Kompas TV reported.
The injured passengers were immediately rushed to the nearest hospitals.
The cause of the accident is said to be overspeeding.
