Uzbekistan and Italy expand strategic cooperation at the regional level

WNAM REPORT: A delegation from Uzbekistan visited Italy and reached key agreements on public administration and regional development.

Following negotiations with representatives of Italy’s Ministry for Regional Affairs and Autonomies and the leadership of Lazio region, priority tasks for the upcoming period were identified. In particular, Italy’s advanced experience in ensuring the stability of local budgets will be implemented in Tashkent, Surkhandarya, Namangan, and Bukhara regions. Cooperation in direct investment will be established between regions of Uzbekistan and Italian provinces. Joint projects will be implemented with Lazio region in the pharmaceutical and logistics sectors in Tashkent region, with Tuscany in the field of tourism in Bukhara, with Emilia-Romagna in the textile industry and beekeeping in Namangan, and with the Abruzzo region in viticulture in Surkhandarya region.Investment projects and business forums involving representatives of the business communities of Tashkent and Lazio are planned.
