ISLAMABAD ( WNAM REPORT ): President of the Islamabad Tyres Association (ITA), Riaz Khan, has said that harassment in the name of the POS system must be stopped. He announced that on December 30, thousands of traders will stage a protest against the POS system in front of the FBR. He said that raiding shops with a large number of officials amounts to harassment. Shopkeepers are intimidated in markets and told that their shops have been sealed and that they must report to the office. Upon reaching the office, the matter is allegedly settled through backdoor deals, which brings no benefit to the government and only lines the pockets of officials.

He further stated that shopkeepers are being blackmailed in the name of legislation, and laws are being made solely to harass traders. We do not accept this unjust law of the FBR. If it is not withdrawn, we will launch a nationwide protest. On December 30, we will gather at Aabpara Chowk and march towards the FBR. If force is used against us, we will observe a shutter-down strike across Pakistan.
