The Presidential Resolution dated December 27, 2025 “On further accelerating measures aimed at the socio-economic development of Samarkand region” provides for the allocation of 32 billion UZS for the construction of infrastructure to transform the city of Nurbulak in Nurabad district into a resort city with uninterrupted year-round service in accordance with the master plan, as well as 14.3 billion UZS to provide infrastructure for the territories of the Okhalik-Okbuyro-Mironkul tourist and recreational zone of Samarkand region.

In addition, measures will be taken to create tourist and recreational areas in Zarafshan mountain range of Urgut district, in Mehnat village of Nurabad district and at the shrine of Hazrati Dovud.Officials were briefed on several investment projects aimed at developing the tourism sector in Samarkand district. In particular, the work on infrastructure development in the Okhalik-Okbuyro-Mironkul tourist and recreational zone was examined. Currently, land plots in this area are being auctioned, the initiators have purchased them, and projects to be implemented have been approved. Work has begun on most of the projects. After resolving infrastructure issues, the projects will be launched gradually, and services will be provided to tourists. During conversations with entrepreneurs and investors, it was emphasized that it is essential to leverage international experience in project implementation while accounting for local conditions and opportunities. This is because the area will become one of the region’s most important tourist destinations in the coming years. Hotel complexes, family recreation centers, and sports and entertainment facilities under construction here will operate year-round and attract tourists.
